Siena Teacher Wins BCE Excellence Award

​​Our Siena Catholic College community is celebrating after our Wellbeing & Engagement Curriculum Leader of Technologies, Mr Paul Dionysius, was awarded as winner of The NGS Super Award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching in a Secondary School at the BCE Excellence Awards.  

​The awards event was held on Friday 16 August​ at the Brisbane City Hall and celebrated the extraordinary contributions of staff and the excellent ways in which staff work to support and nurture the growth of students, including teaching, leading, and mentoring .  Special guest His Grace Archbishop Mark Coleridge joined 320 attendees, including winners, finalists, and leadership for the significant event.  BCE received 379 nominations from across the organisation including 101 schools and offices. 

Principal, Ms Sharon Collins said, “We could not be more proud of Paul's achievements. He is a remarkable colleague, a dedicated teacher and an incredible technical innovator who contributes so richly to all aspects of College life."

Brisbane Catholic Education Executive Director Dr Sally Towns congratulated all the winners and commendations and thanked them for the work they have contributed to work together to enliven our vision at BCE.

A big congratulations to all 2024 nominees and those who went on to be finalists including our Campus Minister, Joan Prasser (pictured with Paul) who was a finalist for The Maximus Award for Excellence in Championing Student Voice.

Siena Catholic College, Year 9 student Sophie Hattingh (pictured) opened the evening with the Acknowledgement of Country and introduced the The Maximus Award for Excellence in Championing Student Voice award.  Sophie has been a BCE Student Voice Consultant since 2022 and we are proud of her contribution and achievements in advocating for student's voices aross BCE.​
