An important goal for our College is to prepare students to successfully transition into further learning or work after Year 12. Our staff believe, giving students the skills to help them in their career journey is an important part of the process.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) is "education and training for work". It enables students to gain qualifications for different industry areas and to develop work-related skills and knowledge. VET courses are accredited through the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
At Siena Catholic College VET is offered in a number of different ways including:
- Certificate I, II, III and IV courses delivered at Siena through external Registered Training Organisations.
- Certificate and Diploma Courses delivered by external Registered Training Organisations.
- School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs) which allows students to work for an employer and train towards a recognised qualification while completing their school studies.
Delivery mode may be face-to-face, online, off campus, or a combination of these. Details of these courses can be found in the Junior and Senior Curriculum Handbook, during the Career Development Pathway Planning Process in Year 10, Year 10 subject selection process, to students when enrolling at the College, or by visiting the websites of our partner organisations.
